Performance Improvement of Spaceborne Carbon Dioxide Detection IPDA LIDAR Using Linearty Optimized Amplifier of Photo-Detector

The spaceborne double-pulse integrated-path differential absorption (IPDA) light detection and ranging (LIDAR) system was found to be helpful in observing atmospheric CO2 understanding the carbon cycle. airborne experiments of a scale prototype China’s planned IPDA LIDAR implemented 2019. A problem with data inversion caused by detector module nonlinearity found. Through many experiments, amplifier circuit board (ACB) proved main factor causing nonlinearity. optimization, original bandwidth ACB changed 1 MHz using fifth-order active filter. Compared version, linearity optimized is improved from 42.6% 0.0747%. produced its verified experiments. In addition, output waveform changes significantly, which will affect random error (RE) system. performance simulation, RE more than 90% global area less 0.728 ppm. Finally, transfer model given, for further optimization column-averaged dry-air mixing ratio (XCO2) algorithm.
